Hi, I’m Terence Loose (but friends call me Terry). I currently work for Netflix as a movie and TV specialist, whatever that means, and have had a 30-year career in writing. Mostly magazine pieces for various publications; a bit of fiction and some internet stuff (but I try not to talk about that). I’ve held positions ranging from Staff Writer to Executive Editor and everything in between. Interestingly, my duties were identical for all of them. Oh, I also hold an MFA in writing from UCLA and have taught at UCI and UCLA.
On a personal level, I am a passionate surfer and spearfisherman (I don’t kill anything I don’t eat) and all-around waterman (alas, not a particularly great one). To that end, I have a bad habit of quitting jobs, selling everything and taking off on camping or sailing adventures to far off places with better waves, more fish and fewer people. Or at least I did before I came back from one of those adventures with a daughter. She has been the real adventure, let me tell you.
Really, let me. More than a few of the pieces here are on those very subjects. I hope you enjoy at least one of them; I’ll add more regularly.
